portland-based fashion designer and current project runway contestant gretchen jones debuted her exclusive project runway line at new york fashion week recently. even though the episode won’t be airing for a while, i thought i’d post a few sneak peek photos of the show and showcase some of her work prior to project runway fame.
some further exciting details have been released about spike jonze’s hyped film adaptation of maurice sendak’s where the wild things are which comes out in theaters this upcoming friday. the entire movie’s soundtrack features karen o. (of the yeah yeah yeahs) with an untrained childrens’ choir! karen also worked with members of the bands queens of the stone age, the bird and the bee, and many more to create the sound for the film. listen/watch here:
500 days of summer is a romantic comedy about unrequited love. this is the number one movie i’m looking forward to this summer and i’m sure if you read blogs at all you’ve seen posts about it. hello, joseph gordon-levitt and zooey deschanel? what more could you want? should be freaking awesome. can’t wait until july 17 when it comes out.

the trendy nerds are sandra, astrid, henriette, and marie, four graphic design students who proclaim themselves to be “spontaneous, fun, nerdy, happy, crazy, trendy, creative t-shirt designers from norway.” they have also created a tribute video to the song hockey – too fake using stop motion techniques for a school project that i really enjoy. check it out:

i first discovered the lovely charlotte gainsbourg for myself from the movie the science of sleep with gael garcía bernal and began looking out for her in magazines and such. if you didn’t know, she is an english-french actress and a singer-songwriter and daughter of the famous actress and singer jane birkin. here are some photographs of her and a video below that.
