Gert & Uwe Tobias are German artists and twin brothers who together create strange yet graphic and colorful works using woodblock prints and collage. “What we do is basically based on a system of collages. We take a shape, add a second, combining shapes which often don’t actually fit together. It’s an old principle. Some elements certainly are reminiscent, for example of a hare’s head or a bird’s head, but overall we are trying to allow the invention of figures and introduction of elements to create an atmosphere, an image that is somewhat strange,” explains Gert in this video by CFA Berlin. 2. Accidental Mysteries – This Design Observer weekly special compiles a series of images that explore extraordinary and often obscure things for curosity’s sake.
3. Robo-Rainbow Video – Juxtapoz magazine shares a short video about a cool technological contraption that automatically spray paints graffiti at the touch of a button.
4. Successful Print Selling - Four artists share some insight into the art of making and selling prints of their work for self-promotional exercise and financial awards.

art > kaleidoscope trance.

Simon Page is a graphic designer in London who believes that “good design excites,” and this philosophy isn’t hard at all to spot in his work. In his bio, he states, “Creating work that genuinely stimulates people’s emotions is something I constantly aim for as a designer.” Combining bright colors and solid geometric shapes and patterns with a twist, I’d say he hit it right on target.
